Open-pit mines are hard places for radio. The terrain changes every week and the nearest fibre can be hundreds of kilometres away.
Reinnder Networks installed a private 5G network across the pit and Sky Link satellite terminals at the remote camps. Autonomous haul trucks, drill rigs and workers’ phones now share one managed network.
Availability in the pit has held at 99.99 percent since commissioning, and the mine’s control room sees every vehicle in real time.
